Question
Was Jon partly or fully to blame for the financial scandal that brought down the former Mayor?
Background
This is an accusation was made by Clark County Politics Blog (The Ann Rivers Campaign Attack Blog). The Blog Author Kelly Hinton is Ann Rivers long time political consultant.
Answer
No. As City Councilman, Jon was there when former Mayor Stacee Sellers was under investigation about the missing $100,000 of income to the city. He assisted the State Auditor by signing off on search inquiries into multiple bank accounts associated with the former Mayor. He successfully led the charge to have her removed from office when there was no doubt that she had falsified documents detailing the revenue from the events she had put on for the city. The former Mayor reimbursed the city for her lavish trip to Las Vegas before the expense report ever crossed Jon's desk.
Jon has made great strides in Washougal since the former Mayors’ departure: he has cut property taxes, implemented a new whistle blower protection policy, passed E-verify to keep tax payer contracts from going to illegal aliens, and deregulated small businesses to help them create jobs.

Whats with the whole Nurse Practitioner Thing?
Question
Did Jon advertise his wife as a Doctor instead of a Family Nurse Practitioner?
Background
This is an accusation was made by Clark County Politics Blog (The Ann Rivers Campaign Attack Blog). The Blog Author Kelly Hinton is Ann Rivers long time political consultant. A member of the Ann Rivers campaign has filed a complaint with the Health Assurances Board of Washington, as an attempt to go after Jon's medical clinic and his wife.
Answer
No, Jon's company does not advertise.
The Vancouver Business Journal published a story on the Federal Healthcare legislation recently adopted into law; In the article the Vancouver Business Journal referred to Sarah Russell as a Doctor. When this was brought to Jon's attention in the blogosphere he asked them to change the on-line version to reflect Sarah's official title.
An accusation was made by the same blog that Jon was advertising that Sarah was a Doctor. The posting found in the Camas/Post Record wrongfully refers to Sarah as a Doctor in their on-line directory, not a paid ad or requested listing.
It is clearly stated on the door of their medical clinic that Sarah Russell is a Family Nurse Practitioner. Jon is proud of this fact, because his business model is built on Independent Family Nurse Practitioners delivering quality care at a lower price.
